The Ella Dawson Foundation was established in honour of art student Ella who sadly died of a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer in 2021. Having received such a devastating diagnosis at the age of just 24, Ella developed a blueprint for the wellbeing support of young adults with cancer. The Ella Dawson Foundation provides a team of experts who enable young people to have access to holistic support within a welcoming and positive community.
This amazing legacy has continued through the work of the charity and includes events such as the Charity Colour Ball which took place in Leeds on 11th February 2023 which would have been Ella’s 26th birthday. The fun-filled evening brought supporters together to celebrate her life with colour, music and dancing whilst raising funds to provide further support for those who need it.
The function room was decorated with dozens of colourful balloons but the centrepieces were the two giant illuminated balls provided by Glow Inflatables Ltd. The designs on the inflatable LED spheres were inspired by Ella’s own unique artwork, making the event all the more poignant. Each bespoke ball was easy to set up, take down and store for the future. The team at Glow worked closely with the charity in order to keep costs as low as possible and maximise the funds raised on the night.

Ella’s sister Tasha, a trustee of the foundation, said, “we had such a wonderful evening and incredibly grateful to have raised so much! The spheres looked so good; we are so happy with them! And having Ella’s art filling and lighting the room up just means so much! We are beyond happy with everything from Glow Inflatables, so thank you!”
