Glow Inflatables Ltd is excited to be working on the production of the Apple TV science fiction series Foundation.
Legendary writer Isaac Asimov’s epic trilogy had originally been deemed ‘unfilmable’ because of its sprawling plots and wildly imaginative settings. However, with the vision of the production team and its stellar cast, this complex saga of humanity scattered throughout the galaxy has been successfully brought to life. The first season of Foundation has been nominated for a number of awards for Outstanding Visual Effects, to be announced in March this year.
Foundation is created at Ireland’s newest and largest studio facility Troy Studios in Limerick. This upcoming series is set to be the country’s largest ever production, employing over 500 people. The team at Glow are happily included in this statistic. We designed and produced a series of different-sized transparent domes, known on set as ‘biopods’ which would be used in one of the episodes in the latest series of Foundation. These bespoke inflatable structures were made complete with airtight zip for easy access in a range of sizes at the request of the customer.
