The Salone del Mobile in Milan is an international event providing a platform for creativity, reflection and inspiration across the design world. This year the innovative trade fair attracted over 2000 exhibitors and over 300,000 visitors from all over the world. It was noted that there was a ‘palpable enthusiasm’ and a ‘huge press presence’ at the event.
Glow Inflatables Ltd teamed up once again with multi-award-winning customer LOT Architects to produce a unique installation that would draw attention to their business at this amazing annual event. LOT is an acronym for ‘Language of Thought’ – a motto that rings true for Glow who specialise in making ideas become a reality. The LOT team create ‘people-centred architecture’ with diverse projects including residential, architectural, business, retail and art exhibitions.
We created a magnificent water feature standing at three metres tall for display at the LOT trade stand area. The large transparent inflatable cone encapsulated a rigid pipe which was connected to a local water pump supplier. This enabled customers to operate the water supply, shooting it through the pipe and allowing water to cascade elegantly down the face of the transparent inflatable cone.
Not only did the water feature draw attention to LOT Architects’ stand, but it also provided entertainment for visitors both young and old. Both our customer and the design museum directors enjoyed having a water element within the trade fair, remarking that they would consider another similar installation on an even larger scale in the future.
