The legendary 90’s dance act Orbital made a triumphant return to Glastonbury this year, delivering a mesmerizing performance at the Park Stage. Known for their pioneering electronic sound, brothers Phil and Paul Hartnoll didn’t disappoint, bringing both nostalgia and innovation to their set.
One of the standout moments of the night was their performance of the classic track “Belfast” which appeared on their debut album back in 1991. As the ethereal synths and hypnotic beats began to pulse through the crowd, a spectacular visual treat unfolded. Glow Inflatables working alongside the infamous management company London Records, provided large LED spheres that were released into the audience, creating a surreal and immersive experience. These giant, glowing orbs bounced above the sea of festivalgoers, illuminating the night with vibrant colours and adding a tangible sense of euphoria to the already electric atmosphere.
The combination of Orbital’s timeless music and the cutting-edge visual effects created an unforgettable spectacle, blending the spirit of 90s rave culture with the latest in event technology. The LED spheres complimented the emotional depth and atmospheric quality of the performance and reinforced the enduring legacy of dance music and its ability to unite and exhilarate generations of fans. It was a perfect harmony of past and present, reminding everyone why Orbital remains a vital force in the electronic music scene.
