As part of the events celebrating Knowsley’s year as Liverpool City Region Borough of Culture, the village of Cronton drew on its astronomical heritage by providing families with a free ‘out of this world’ experience. The village is home to the Liverpool Astronomical Society so it seemed most appropriate to transform the local pasture into a beautiful tribute entitled ‘Cronton Sun, Moon and Stars’.
The event took place on Sunday 16th October and was made possible with the support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund and funding from the Liverpool City Region, The Metro Mayor and Knowsley Council.
The fully immersive installation transported audiences through a virtual night sky which featured an outdoor planetarium with an illuminated inflatable solar system supplied by the team at Glow. Children from local schools were also involved in providing star lanterns, an astronomical adventure story and an accompanying soundscape.
Local visitors were really impressed by this fantastic event. “It was a lovely night. The planets looked amazing all lit up.”
Inflatable LED spheres are one of our most popular products. Glow specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of premium quality inflatables; the only limit to what is possible is your own imagination.
