On Saturday 2nd July 2022, the 50th annual Pride parade took place in London, celebrating the joys and triumphs of the growing LGBT+ community as well as recognising the continuing fight against injustice and inequality.

The team at Glow Inflatables were delighted to be involved with our client Seen Displays, setting up an outrageously stunning float for Microsoft, the multinational technology corporation. The oversized bulbous inflatable flowers were supplied in a range of beautiful designs all sporting the light blue, pink and white of the transgender flag. The origin of the colours goes back to the original design by Monica Helms in 2000 whereby the light blue represents baby boys, the pink for baby girls and the white signifies those who are transitioning or who consider themselves having a neutral or undefined gender.

Our team were on hand to decorate the impressive float and set up the walking balloons alongside large clusters of matching foils that were given out to the crowd of people that attended.

Glow also also supplied a selection of backpack balloons for generous distribution to the crowds attending the parade. The collectable freebies were made in an array of colours that represented thirty-four different sexuality and gender identity flags. The balloons, which were spherical or oblong in shape and printed with a striking flowered design, were made to be cleverly attached to attendees’ backpacks – there were certainly no ‘shrinking violets’ at this event!

It was a joy and privilege to be involved in London’s biggest Pride event to date, supporting and promoting inclusivity and love in all its glory.
